A prayer for work that is seen
This is the narrowest category on the site: actors, musicians, dancers, writers, artists and other people whose work is presented to an audience. The request can be concrete — a performance, audition, exhibition or technique — but the shrine's religious language is a prayer for the work, not a guarantee of applause or employment.
Kitano Tenmangu describes a long connection with culture and the performing arts. Its official account names the shrine as a place people visit for cultural and artistic practice, and its prayer page says that people also come before an important match or stage performance. The main shrine's formal prayer reception is a different activity from a simple visit to the offering box.
Geino Jinja is a subsidiary shrine
At Kurumazaki Jinja, Geino Jinja is a separate shrine within the grounds, dedicated in the shrine's account to the deity of the performing arts. The vermilion tamagaki around it carry performers' names, but they are not fan message boards.
The shrine's current notice is explicit: a tamagaki may be dedicated only by the performer or a formally authorised representative. Fans cannot dedicate one for an admired artist or character. Fans may still make a prayer or receive an amulet for an artist's activity; that is a different request from commissioning a name plaque.
Put the ordinary visit first
At Kurumazaki, visit the main shrine before going to Geino Jinja and follow the route the shrine gives. At Kitano, use the shrine's own worship and prayer counter. Do not transfer a subsidiary-shrine custom to another site, and keep practising, rehearsing and submitting work alongside the prayer.
